Subject Release Of FirmSoft Software - Version 3.0 On Sunday, March 9, 2003 - Software Issue Identified.

As a reminder, the new version of FirmSoft 3.0 will be implemented on Sunday, March 9, 2003. We want to make you aware of an issue that has just been identified in the current version of the software -- 2.9 -- which has also been discovered in the new version -- 3.0 -- to be implemented this Sunday.

 

Description of Issue

 

For order searching purposes, the Account Search Entry field  is not case sensitive, so to view orders by Account that contain, for example, AB, you may enter any of the following combinations: AB, ab, Ab or aB.  The results will then populate the FirmSoft Results Window with all of the combinations.

 

For order cancellation purposes, if you select Cancel All, only those accounts that exactly match the case format as entered in the Account Search Entry field will be cancelled. If the case format of the account does not match the account that was entered in the Account Search Entry field, then an error message will be returned �No Working Orders to Cancel at This Time.�  As a result, those orders will have to be individually cancelled. 

 

Therefore, to successfully use the Cancel All function, the Account Number Search Entry Field MUST contain the identical case format as on the GLOBEX order.   

 

This issue has not impacted any firms to-date, so the software upgrade will continue on schedule. However, please be aware that staff is working to resolve this issue, as soon as possible. We will update you when the software has been modified.
